Red Kite Breeding Success

Following the re-introduction in 1989, the first pair of birds bred successfully in 1992.

These graphs illustrate the average number of chicks per nest ( brood size ) that were recorded while tagging and ringing 816 broods during a 15 year period, 1992 to 2006.

The total to date shows 1626 chicks were ringed with identifying leg rings and many were marked with wing tags.
